Monday, October 31, 2022 – Final date to submit a proposal; no paper required.
December 2 - Decision notifications sent
December 12 - Session date/time information sent; Registration opens
January 19, 2023 - Proceedings paper due
February 1, 2023 - Speaker registration deadline

NOTICE: By submitting your work for the Health Care Symposium, you agree to abide by the following policies:
Proposals must conform to the requirements in this Call for Proposals:
Work that has been submitted to another conference, or is currently under review by another forum, cannot be submitted.
Refer to the HFES Code of Ethics prior to submitting your work.
Obtain any necessary internal approval (from your employer/institution) of your work BEFORE you submit a proposal.
HFES assumes that all coauthors of your submission have given their consent to submit and, if accepted, publish the paper in the Annual Meeting proceedings.
HFES is not responsible in the event communication about your proposal fails to reach you if you have failed to maintain correct contact information in the online database.
At least one of the authors of the accepted work must attend the meeting in person and present it. Presenters are required to pay the registration fee.
Please make sure that you add the Linklings email address (mailto:email@example.com) and the HFES email address (mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org) to your email safelist so that you receive all communications regarding your submission.

Q: Is there a PowerPoint template?
A: The PowerPoint template is available to download here.
Q: Am I required to use the PowerPoint template?
A: No, but please use the template to ensure you include all the required information.
Q: What are the logistical requirements and guidelines for my Poster?

Q: Am I required to submit proceedings?
A: No, but we strongly encourage it.
Q: How long does my proceedings paper need to be?
A: Submissions may not exceed six formatted pages, see the Proceedings Paper Guidelines for more guidance
Q: Can I submit an extended abstract instead of a proceedings paper?
A: Yes; an extended abstract must be at least 500 words. You’ll use the same proposal template but remove the top paragraph marked as "abstract" and use the two-column format for the whole thing.
Q: Do all authors need to register for the Symposium?
A: At least one author for any poster or presentation must be registered for the Symposium. Speakers register at the regular conference rate.
Q: Can I register as a student?
A: To receive student pricing, you must be able to provide a valid University ID at registration and be actively enrolled.
Q: Where can I check the status of my submission?

Q: I can’t log into the paper management system!
